Just a reminder that there will be a Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School information session held on Thursday, January 6, 2014 at 5:00 pm in the CHS Library. This session is geared toward current 9th graders who are interested in applying to CBGS for the 2014-2015 school year (middle school students are encouraged to attend too). Students and instructors from CBGS will be present to answer questions, and applications will be made available at the information session as well. Interested students and parents are encouraged to attend.
Just a reminder that the Financial Aid Workshop is scheduled for this Thursday, January 9, at 6:00 pm in the CHS auditorium. If you are planning to attend college–no matter what grade you are in–you and your parents are invited to attend. There will be lots of great financial aid information shared. A representative from Germanna Community College’s Financial Aid office will be present to provide an overview of the financial aid process (no matter where you want to attend).
The Society of Women Engineers at the University of Virginia invites high school sophomores and juniors to apply for a place in our High School Visitation Program, taking place February 22, 2014. The program gives young women a comprehensive look at engineering fields and at UVA’s engineering curriculum through informative speakers and hands-on design activities. The program is designed to benefit participants with all levels of engineering experience. We particularly target those students who are not yet familiar with the field but may be interested in applying to engineering schools or pursuing an engineering career.
