FAFSA opens on October 1 at www.fafsa.gov. This form is required for anyone who wants to receive financial aid (loans, grants, work-study) to pay for college or career/technical schools. Even if you don’t believe you/your student will receive aid, it is still important to file the FAFSA! You may be surprised by what you get. Additionally, almost anyone can receive a federal student loan, which is much lower interest than any loan from a bank. FAFSA may also be required for certain scholarship applications. In short, COMPLETE THE FAFSA! Keep an eye on FAFSA deadlines for any prospective colleges. And remember: FAFSA is always FREE! Never pay to file a FAFSA.
Ms. Taylor is available to answer any questions students or parents have about the FAFSA. To schedule an appointment, email Ms. Taylor at email@example.com, or give her a call at 804-633-9886 ext. 5026.
Please inform Ms. Taylor when FAFSA is submitted. Students who show proof of completion will be entered into a raffle for gift cards and other prizes.
CHS will be hosting a FAFSA Night on October 23 at 5:30pm. Senior parents and students are encouraged to attend. A financial aid professional from Germanna Community College will be available to answer any questions.
